G-C graduate wins “good example” award

Savannah Watts is the recipient of the Greenfield Central Schools Foundation “Set a Good Example” award for the 2018 spring sports season.

The award is presented to a student-athlete who:

•Exemplifies the highest moral character as a role model for young people at school and in the community;

•Has an obvious interest in the growth and development of youth, and;

•Has a positive attitude, emotional stability and self-control.

Watts has earned varsity letters in all but one season of her high school career. She has been a constant on the sideline and in the dugout for the last four years as a student athletic trainer. She has a heart for helping others, leads by example, has a positive attitude and an infectious smile. She is very active in her church and has been a part of several community service projects and has served on mission trips to Tennessee and Haiti.

Watts served as an athletic trainer for the baseball, soccer and basketball teams for all four years of her high school career, said mother Becky Watts. She graduated in spring 2018.

“Her dedication is really amazing,” Becky Watts said.

Ginny Brown, executive director of the Greenfield Central Schools Foundation, presented the award to Watts.
