Mt. Vernon starting Athletic Hall of Fame
Mt. Vernon High School is establishing an Athletic Hall of Fame in an effort to recognize and honor the achievements of those who have made a significant contribution and have brought positive recognition to Mt. Vernon athletics as a player, coach or as a contributor. For the inaugural class the school is seeking nominations from the present consolidated Mt. Vernon High School (post 1964).
Players must have graduated five years prior to selection, coaches must have retired or left the school system at least two years prior to selection, and contributors can be recognized at any time.
Mt. Vernon is seeking nominations from the public that will aid them in building a list of worthy candidates to select from. The committee will select inductees each year and those who were nominated and not selected will remain on the list for consideration in future years.
