Country Kritters prepare for fair

GREENFIELD — The Country Kritters 4-H Club conducted its meeting on June 5 at the Hancock County 4-H Fair Exhibit Hall.

Hailey Hedrick, president, called the meeting to order; 24 members were present. Zachary Delk gave the Treasurer’s Report.

Kaitlyn Lowes led the American pledge while Jacob Wickard led the 4-H pledge. Katelyn Delk did a Health and Safety Lesson on the importance of “How to Properly Clean Your Vegetables.”

Vickie Ramsey & Cathie Hickerson, club leaders, explained upcoming fair events and project information updates. Please be sure to look over project requirements and to pay attention to project due dates and times.

Kaitlyn Lowes brought in red noses for members to wear on the parade float, as this year is a Circus theme- “Under the Big Top.”

Kobe Wright gave a demonstration and spoke about K-9 police dogs. Kobe introduced Officer Walter Butt Jr. and his patrol partner Apache. Officer Butt and Apache gave the club a live demonstration on canine patrol and Apache’s many abilities. All enjoyed watching Apache and learning from Officer Butt.

Other demonstrations that evening were Claire Bishop on “How to Make 3 Powerful Peanut Butter Smoothies,” “How to Read a Defense in Football,” by Jacob Wickard, Elise Meyer on “Home to Make a Simple Floral Arrangement,” and Isabelle Garcia on “Her Favorite Book about Harry Potter.”

The next club meeting will be in July held at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown.
