Sectional pairings, tee times announced
Local boys golf teams learned their sectional date and time, with the IHSAA Boys Golf Sectional 17 set for June 4 at Hawk’s Tail in Greenfield. The top three teams will advance to the regional round.
Tee times for the 12 sectional teams are:
9 to 9:36 a.m.: Mt. Vernon, New Palestine, Triton Central
9:45 to 10:21 a.m.: New Castle, Greenfield-Central, Eastern Hancock
10:30 to 11:06 a.m.: Shelbyville, Shenandoah, Morristown
11:15 to 11:51 a.m: Southwestern, Knightstown, Blue River Valley
Dragons shoot season-best in win
New Palestine shot its best nine-hole score of the season Tuesday in a 159-192 Senior Day victory against Greenwood.
The Dragons celebrated senior Elijah Domogala, who shot 39 over nine holes at Hawk’s Tail.
Quinn Dobbins was medalist with a 38. Josh Shinkle shot 40 and Chris Guhl 42.
Cougars get past Franklin Central
Greenfield-Central won an away match Tuesday against Franklin Central, prevailing 166-170 against the Flashes.
The Cougars’ Noah Mohler was medalist with a 35.
