Theatre Company auditions for musical ‘Baby’

GREENFIELD — The Ricks Weil Theatre Co. will hold auditions for the musical “Baby” at 6:30 p.m. May 20 and 21 at the H. J. Ricks Centre for the Arts, 122 W. Main St. “Baby” examines how three sets of parents-to-be — college-aged, 30-somethings and middle-aged — experience the stresses and triumphs, as well as the highs and lows that accompany the anticipation and arrival of a baby. Directed by Beth Ray-Scott, rehearsals start May 30 and performances are Aug. 3, 4, 10, 11 and 12. RWTC is seeking an ethnically- and racially-diverse cast of six principal vocalists and a diverse ensemble of friends, students and townspeople for this light-hearted musical comedy. Local artist offers painting workshops at library

GREENFIELD — Artist Peggy Brewer will offer numerous opportunities to paint at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. On Tuesday at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., she will lead a class in painting coneflowers. One Wednesday, attendees will paint a lake scene at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The class is open to all levels. Southside Quilters Guild to discuss printed fabric

INDIANAPOLIS — The Quilters Guild of Indianapolis south side (QGIS) will meet at 12:30 May 24 at Friedens United Church of Christ, 8300 S. Meridian Street. Ken Gamache, from the Cranston Print Works in Rhode Island, will present a behind-the-scenes look at how printed fabric is designed and made. All quilters are welcome to attend.
