Shirley M. Everhart, 93, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018, at Morristown Manor in Morristown.

She was born November 15, 1924, in Shelby County, the daughter of Arthur and Leatha Pearl (Brown) Cory. On January 26, 1946, she married Harold Everhart, and he preceded her in death on January 14, 1987.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Tommy D. Everhart and wife, Cheryl, of Morristown, and Teddy R. Everhart and wife, Jana, of Shelbyville; sisters, Phyllis Jessup of Greenfield, and Jane Patterson and husband, Jimmy, of Carmel; grandchildren, Lisa Myers, Erin Needham and husband, Scott, and Ted Everhart and wife, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Olivia Needham, Thomas Myers, Gabrielle Needham, Brynn Needham and Nathan Everhart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to Harold, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Cory, Forrest Cory and Dennis Cory; and sister, Laura Rabe.

Shirley graduated from Morristown High School in 1943.

She was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church.

Shirley formerly worked at State Automobile Insurance and Lumberman’s Insurance. She cooked at Morristown and Little Marion schools. She retired from Leary Gas in Greenfield.

She had been a member of the Marionette Home Economic Club.

Shirley enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading and doing craft.

She loved her family and enjoyed the time she spent with them.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Morristown United Methodist Church, 221 S. Washington Street in Morristown.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with Pastor Janis Bond officiating.

Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
