Plant sale benefits church missions

BUCK CREEK TOWNSHIP — Amity United Methodist Church’s 15th annual plant sale began Thursday and continues Saturday (May 5) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The church is located at the corner of County Road 600W (Mt. Comfort Road) and County Road 100N.

The sale features small trees, annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, lilies, bushes, berry plants, birdhouses, primitive wood furniture, watercolor greeting cards, Mother’s Day gift plants and large porch pots.

All proceeds from the plant sale will benefit the church and its missions.

Fish fry meal coming to Methodist church

GREENFIELD — Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3447 S. State Road 9, will serve the annual fish fry from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 19.

The menu will include fried fish, french fries, hush puppies, baked beans, slaw, desserts and beverages. Hot dogs and carry-out also will be available.

Donations will be accepted, with proceeds used for missions and special projects.

Faith Promise Sunday to support outreach

GREENFIELD — Bradley United Methodist Church, 210 W. Main St., will have Faith Promise Sunday on May 6.

At the end of the service, those who wish to can make a giving pledge toward mission outreach ministries.

The goal is to raise $5,000 each for eight local missions: Hancock County Food Pantry, Hope House, The Landing Place, Life Choices, Love INC of Greater Hancock County, Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen, Talitha Koum Women’s Recovery House, and a homeless ministry.

Coupled with $1,000 donations to 17 other organizations in the United States and abroad, the Faith Promise goal is $57,000.

Men’s group to serve chicken and noodles

GREENFIELD — The United Methodist Men will serve a chicken noodle supper from 4 to 7 p.m. May 19 at Amity United Methodist Church, 6042 W. County Road 100N. Donations will be accepted, with proceeds going toward men’s mission projects.

Rummage sale continues Saturday

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church is having a rummage sale that began Friday and continues from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday (May 5) at the church, 6247 W. Broadway.

‘Gift of Grain’ helps Love INC

HANCOCK COUNTY — Farmers can support Love INC of Greater Hancock County by donating part of their harvest to the Hancock County Community Foundation. A charitable contribution in kind has some tax benefits over a cash donation, such as lessening the amount of inventory to report.
