INDIANAPOLIS

Gail Arden Gulleson Hancock, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away April 29, 2018, after battling liver cancer and kidney failure. Gail was born in New Kensington, PA, January 29, 1935, to the late Walter and Burdella Gulleson. Her family moved to Indianapolis, where Gail graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1952. She married John M. Hancock, September 18, 1954, and enjoyed 63 happy years of marriage. Gail raised her two sons in West Lafayette, IN, and Rockford, IL, before settling down in Indianapolis where she worked at her father’s business, Colors, Inc., now in its third generation. Gail was an active member of New Palestine United Methodist Church for many years where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Common Threads Quilt Club, loved reading Nicholas Sparks novels; and spending time with her friends and family. She was well loved and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be Friday, May 4, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Palestine United Methodist Church, 3565 S. 500 West, New Palestine.

Gail is survived by her loving husband, John M. Hancock; sons, Michael E. (Kathy) and David J. (Rebecca) Hancock; seven grandchildren, Morgan, Haley, Adam, Sara, Emily, Diana, and Glenn; and four great-grandchildren. Gail’s sister, Joyce Gulleson, preceded her in death.
