CUMBERLAND
Andrew Michael Mize, 18, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at his residence. He was born on April 26, 1999 in Richmond as the son of Garrett D. and Heather M. (Bergfelder) Mize. He was on the Mt. Vernon High School Special Olympics Team, where he participated in the wheelchair and relay races. Andrew loved watching Barney and the Chicago Cubs. He adored his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Andrew is survived by his loving parents, Garrett and Heather Mize of Cumberland; sister, Morgan L. Mize of Cumberland; grandparents, Richard E. and Mary M. Mize of Winchester and Paul A. and Karla Bergfelder of Richmond; grandmother, Brenda Bergfelder of St. Louis, MO; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Kevin Fritts will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Down Syndrome Indiana, 708 E. Michigan Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202 or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
