GREENFIELD — A Greenfield Central Junior High School student told police bullying led him to make a threat violence against fellow students Thursday.

Investigators quickly determined the child had no access to weapons. The threat that was made was not toward the school but individuals off of school property, officials said.

But extra police officers were stationed at Greenfield Central Junior High School Thursday as a precaution, officials said.

School administrators became aware of the threat late Wednesday, after rumors circulated that a student had threatened to being a gun to school Thursday morning, according to police.

The child was quickly identified by police. His name will not been released because of his young age.

His home was searched, and no firearms were located, police said.

During a meeting with the student and his parents, police determined the child had been the victim of bullying. The school has already taken steps to address the issue, officials said.

But the incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 317-325-1284.
