Harvest Land Cooperative plans Turf and Lawn care event

GREENFIELD — Harvest Land Cooperative has scheduled a Turf and Lawn Event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at its Greenfield location, 230 W. Osage St. Brian Schlemmer, a Cisco systems representative, is planning to attend to answer customer questions and provide information on weed control, types of grass and other lawn care concerns.

Dental Office community giving event benefits Angel Connection

MCCORDSVILLE — Dental Oasis in McCordsville hosted a “packing the pantry” event while following the NCAA men’s basketball tournament in March. Dental Oasis awarded prizes to people who donated cash or nonperishable food items to Angel Connection food pantry.

Hundreds of dollars were raised for the cause, said Dental Oasis employee Sheila Carson. Several local businesses donated cash and gift cards for the community project, Carson said.

Dental Oasis also planned to pitch in by donating toothbrushes and toothpaste to Angel Connection at the end of March, Carson said.

Community Health OB/GYN recognized for achievements

INDIANAPOLIS — Community Health Network’s Dr. Anthony Sanders was honored by the Center for Leadership Development recently as part of its annual Minority Achievers Awards, according to a news release.

Sanders received the Achievement in Professions Award, which recognizes his service to pregnant patients dealing with substance abuse disorders.

Sanders has gone a long way in de-stigmatizing a serious disease affecting pregnant moms all throughout central Indiana, said Dr. Kristina Box, Indiana State Health Commissioner.

Financial Center First Credit Union given advertising award

INDIANAPOLIS — Financial Center First Credit Union has been recently awarded with a Diamond Award, recognizing outstanding marketing within the credit union industry, according to a news release.

The award was the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing & Business Development Council, a national network comprised of more than 1,300 credit union marketing and business development professionals.

CUNA Council chooses recipients on the Diamond Award based on “representing the best and the brightest in credit union marketing,” according to the news release. Financial Center won in the “Digital Advertising” category for the credit union’s use of digital advertising with the Eclipse Certificate Special.
