Joe “Sammy” Zamora, born January 11, 1960, the second of 5 children, to David Sr. and Gloria Zamora in Albuquerque, NM, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018. Joe graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque in 1978. He was in the US Army from September 1978 to September 1981. He retired from Wilbert Vault Company in April 2016, following his liver transplant.
Joe enjoyed fishing, camping, old cars, motorcycles, and most of all, he enjoyed life.
He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Julie; children, Matthew, Ashley (Gabe), Sammy, Cierra (Shaquille) and Melissa (Jared). He was a wonderful stepfather to Christia and Howard. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Teresa, Eli, Mea, and James; and his siblings, David Jr., Vince, Carol, and Sylvia. Being from a large family, Joe is also survived by lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, out-laws, and many friends he considered his family. He will be missed by all.
Per Joe’s wishes he was cremated with no services. His family and friends will have a Celebration of Life in his memory at a later date.
