GREENFIELD
Elizabeth (Newton) Snider 92, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Morristown Manor. She was born on September 19, 1925 in Phillipsburg, KY as the daughter of James O. and Mary Violet (Brown) Newton. Elizabeth married Floyd O. Snider in Greenfield.
She worked for Twin Brook and Brandywine Nursing Home as a housekeeping and laundry supervisor for over 40 years before retiring.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Larry Eugene Vaught of Greenfield; daughter, Elizabeth A. Arnold of Greenfield; sisters, Francis Marilyn Coffee of New Albany, Mary Lorene Tucker of Waldron and Catherine Jenell Leisure of Greenfield; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 with one more on the way great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Newton; husband, Floyd Snider; and brothers, David O. Newton, James Albert Newton, and William Cecil Newton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield
