Lucilla Jane (Hall) Boyd, born January 10, 1920, Rensselaer, IN to Paul Jefferson Hall Sr. and Jane Parkison Moody Hall.(The fourth of five children.)

Baptized in Barkley Methodist Church in Barkley Township. Attended South Barkley School from grades 1-8. Graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1937, Indiana University in 1941 (B.A.), Northwestern University in 1945 (M.A.).

Taught high school in Winamac and LaPorte High Schools, 1941-1944, and theatre instructor at University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana from 1945-1949.

Married Glen Kepler Boyd (Purdue graduate 1941), from Greenfield, IN on June 25, 1950. Four daughters Glenda Kay Boyd, Paula Jane Boyd, Lucilla Ann Boyd, Madelyn Boyd.

The family farmed and showed Angus cattle, Glen died April 9, 1977.

She was also preceded in death by four siblings: Rebecca Jane Darr, Denver, CO, Granville Moody Hall, Rensselaer, IN, Paul J. Hall Jr. , Laramie, WO and Mary Jane Levandowski, Rensselaer, IN.

Surviving are four daughters, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Kay graduated from Purdue with a degree in Veterinary medicine and practices at Kentland, IN. She and Frank A. Terrell DVM, also in farming, are the parents of two daughters. Kelly Ann Cochran, PharmD, Columbia, MO, and Debra Elizabeth Cochran, Greenfield, IN.

Paula graduated from Indiana University. She and Kenneth N. Holbrook, Cary, NC (computer field) have two daughters, Katie Boyd Holbrook, Cary, NC and Gloria Diane (John, M.D.) Schmidt, Charlotte, NC.

LuAnn, a Purdue graduate, and Rodger Durham (deceased 2017), (surveyor)Greensboro, NC are parents of Emily Boyd (Carlo) Diy, Durham, NC and Nathan Winston (Lisa),LT, Durham, Jacksonville, FL.

Madelyn, Purdue graduate and Mark A. Stanforth, DVM, Kokomo, IN are the parents of Michelle Katherine Stanforth, LCDR., Bedford, IN, Lisa Marie (Fernando) Prieto, Tampa, FL and Marla Louise (Seth) White, Kewanna, IN., parents of Eli, Isaac, Samuel and Jayne White.

Memberships included: Greenfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), General Van Rensselaer Chapter of DAR, Associate Chapter (Beta) of Tri Kappa, Indiana Angus Auxiliary and Farm Bureau and Friends of Hancock Co. Public Library and Brown Bag book group.

Visitation for Lucilla will be Thursday February 22, 2018 from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the Greenfield Christian Church 23 N. East St. Greenfield, Indiana 46140. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00pm with Pastor Frank Everett officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Memorial contributions can be made to Greenfield Christian Church or Greenfield Tri Kappa.
