FOUNTAINTOWN
Melvin H. “Bud” Fisher, 81, of Fountaintown, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at his residence. He was born on April 14, 1936 in Fairland, IN as the son of George A. and Ollie B. Fisher.
He served in the U.S. Navy. Bud married Barbara J. (Reese) in April 1956.
He was a rental property owner in the surrounding area for many years. He loved spending time with his family and listening to music. Bud was a very handy man and was able to fix anything.
Bud is survived by his wife, Barbara Fisher of Fountaintown; sons, Tommy E. (Julie) Fisher of Morristown, Todd H. Fisher of Greenfield and David A. (Heather) Fisher of Fountaintown; daughters, Debbie J. (Dave) Monday of Whiteland, IN, Deidra A. Fisher of Indianapolis and Terri L. Fisher of Greenfield; brother, Ralph Fisher of Fairland; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ollie Fisher; and son, Gary A. Fisher.
Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A celebration of life service will take place following the gathering at 6:00 p.m. Military rites will be presented by Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard after the service. Pastor Mike Smith will be officiating.
