NEW PALESTINE

Charles Thomas Ember, 68, of New Palestine, IN went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 17, 2017. Charles was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on May 8, 1949, Mother’s Day.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 20 years, Debra Ember and his five children, Joshua Ember, Anna (Jeff) Reilly, Jonathan (Nicole) Ember, Alise (Dan) Etzel, and Jeremy along with seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Selma (Beshara) Ember and his brother, Clifford.

Charles grew up in Ft Wayne, IN where he graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School in 1967. He received his Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in 1974 and attended graduate school at USC for Electro-Physics. He worked for General Dynamics before moving back to the Midwest where he worked at Naval Avionics and Raytheon from 1976 to 2005. He liked inventing new ideas and had many patents.

Charles lived a life dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The mission work took him all over the country and even overseas to China. He reached many youth in inner cities getting them to give up their flasks in exchange for remote controlled airplanes and other techy toys. He also led many Bible studies and was part of several prison ministries.

Charles enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything and was so proud of each of his children. He always looked forward to his annual tomato deli pita sandwiches and the annual 4th of July cook outs. He loved to share his Lebanese heritage through recipes passed on to him by his mother especially at Thanksgiving. He enjoyed cooking and creating new dishes including his famous chili that has won several cook offs. One of his favorite hobbies was tending to his garden and orchard in his own backyard and loved having family and friends over to pick their favorite fruits and veggies.

Charles never knew a stranger and would feed and give the shirt off his back to anyone. He was truly one of a kind and a Great Man that will be dearly missed.
