BREAKING: At least 11 injured in 3-car crash

UPDATE: 5:34 p.m.: Police update the number of injured to 13.

UPDATE: 4:29 p.m.: The van is from Trinity Park United Methodist Church, officials said.

UPDATE: 4:08 p.m.: Witnesses say a box truck and a car collided at the intersection of State and Boyd streets when one ran the stop sign. The driver of the church van tried to avoid the wreck, lost control and struck a pole, overturning the van.

UPDATE: 3:57 p.m.: Among the injured — a van full of children from a local church summer program, returning home after a day trip to go swimming.

UPDATE: 3:18 p.m.: No fatalities reported.

GREENFIELD — Steer clear of the intersection of State and Boyd streets in Greenfield, where emergency officials are responding to an accident with at least 11 people injured. The road is closed near the scene of the accident, according to police broadcasts.

There are no fatalities reported.

The accident involved at least three vehicles. A medical helicopter is en route to the scene of the accident, where medics are treating patients. At least one patient was transported to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital; another was transported to Riley Children’s Hospital, according to police broadcasts.
