Robert Lewis Farren, of Washington passed away on May 18, 2017, at his home in Vincennes. Robert was born October 27, 1941, in Daviess County the son of William and Leona (VanWinkle) Farren.

Robert served eleven years in the Indiana National Guard in Washington and loved his job as a farm hand working for the late Denny Murphy and Judeanne Murphy Delaney at Murphy Farms in Montgomery, IN.

Robert is survived by his children, Amy Wright of Vincennes, Darrell Farren of Virginia Beach, Va, Brenda Wieling and her husband, Alan, of Vincennes, and Roberta Hartsburg and her husband, Gaylord, of Moores Hill, IN.; son-in-law, Russell Dove of New Palestine; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bill Farren and his wife, Judy, of Washington, Kay Walls and her significant other, John Brown, of Washington, Jim Farren of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Leona (VanWinkle) Farren, son-in-law, William “Willie” Wright, daughter, Darlene (Farren) Dove, very dear friend, Denny Murphy, sister, Florence “Peggy” McDonald, and great grandson, Rhett James Hartsburg.

Robert’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, at Bethany Christian Church, 1139 IN 57, Washington, IN with Ron Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Friends may visit with Roberts family from 11 am until the hour of service time of 1 pm at Bethany Christian Church on Tuesday.

Goodwin Funeral Home of Vincennes has been entrusted with Robert’s final arrangements.
