Residents graduate from basic training

HANCOCK COUNTY — Three people hailing from the county recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

McNab

U.S. Air Force National Guard Airman 1st Class Emily L. McNab is the daughter of Jim P. McNab of McCordsville, and Tonya K. Kennedy of Pittsboro.She is a 2016 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School.

Sweet

U.S. Air Force National Guard Airman 1st Class Ashley K. Sweet is the daughter of David L. Sweet and Angela R. Powers, and step-daughter of Deborah R. Sweet, all of Greenfield. Sweet earned distinction as an honor graduate.The airman is a 2016 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School.

Zinola

U.S. Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Andrew N. Zinola is the son of Alberto and Sylvia Zinola of Greenfield.He is a 2011 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2016 from Purdue University in West Lafayette.
