Oaklandon Civic tells fish stories through melodies

OAKLANDON — Oaklandon Civic Theatre presents “King Mackerel and the Blues are Running: Songs and Stories of the Carolina Coast,” weekends through March 19. Tall tales and ballads bring the Carolina coast to inland Indiana as the cast of musical fishermen stage a benefit to save the Corncake Inlet Inn. Audiences should save room for dessert as Bonnie’s Café will be selling theme-related treats during intermission. Friday and Saturday shows start at 8 p.m. Sunday matinees start at 2 p.m. at the Oaklandon Civic, 6450 Oaklandon Road. Tickets are $12 each and can be reserved at 317-823-4761 ext. 4. Fast-paced show features Cole Porter classic tunes

INDIANAPOLIS — Footlite Musicals’ “Anything Goes” is high-jinks on the high seas as nightclub singer turned evangelist Reno Sweeney travels aboard the S. S. American from New York to England.
