GREENFIELD — A local bird-watching group plans an upcoming talk with the Indianapolis Audubon Society president.

Rob Ripma, current president of Amos Butler Audubon Society in Indianapolis, board member for Ohio’s Black Swamp Bird Observatory and co-owner of Sabrewing Nature Tours, will speak about beginning bird-watching and bird-watching ethics at 10 a.m. Feb. 25 at the Riley Park shelter house, located adjacent to the Patricia Elmore Center, 280 Apple St.

The event, sponsored by Greenfield Birders, is free and open to the public.

In addition to serving on boards of bird-related organizations, Ripma is the primary blogger for Birds and Bloom Magazine. He also is on the planning committee and serves as the field trip coordinator for “The Biggest Week in American Birding,” the largest birding festival in the United States.
