L. David Duff, 75, of New Palestine, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016. He was born on August 5, 1941, in Decatur, Ind. as the son of Eugene J. and Dolores M. (Hoblet) Duff.

He graduated from Willshire High School in 1959. Mr. Duff received his BSEE in Electrical Engineering from Ohio State University in 1964. He married Linda S. (Strickling) on August 22, 1964.

David worked for Eli Lilly & Co. in Indianapolis in the Metrology department for many years before retiring. Mr. Duff was a member of Cross of Grace Lutheran Church in New Palestine and the First Church of the Nazarene in Indianapolis. He had many interests including teaching, writing, reading, traveling, biking, hiking, backpacking and gardening. His faith in God influenced his life goals and priorities. He was constantly reaching out to others and giving of himself.

David is survived by his wife, Linda S. (Strickling) Duff; daughters, Elizabeth A. (Mark) Blachly, Karen A. (Chris) McKinney and Christine L. Duff; brothers, Jerald L. (Linda) Duff; sister, Linda A. (Tom) Wicks; and six grandchildren, Jordan, Madison, Emma, Ben, Abby and Bethany.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John William Duff.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, at Cross of Grace Lutheran Church, 3519 S. 600 W., New Palestine, IN 46163. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow the gathering at 11:30 a.m., also at the church. Pastor Mark Havel will be officiating.
