HANCOCK COUNTY — Three local police departments are accepting applications for their annual holiday shopping programs aimed at aiding area kids in need.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Greenfield Police Department and Fortville Police Department each hold an annual outreach program to buy clothing and toys for disadvantaged children.

Applications are due Friday.

The sheriff’s department’s program is open to any Hancock County youngster. Applicants can be picked up from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday at the sheriff’s department, 123 E. Main St., Greenfield.

Greenfield’s shopping day aims to help children living inside Greenfield city limits. Applicants can be picked up from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday at Greenfield Police Depart-ment, 116 S. State St.

Fortville’s program targets Vernon Township children. Applicants can be picked up from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday at Fortville Town Hall, 714 E. Broadway St.
