GREENFIELD — Two people were rushed to the hospital after a serious crash near the intersection of county roads 200N and 600W Thursday night.

Police say a car headed southbound on County Road 600W collided with a vehicle headed westbound on County Road 200N.

A teen passenger in the westbound car was transported to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital with serious injures after being ejected from the vehicle, according to emergency broadcasts.

The young driver of that vehicle, who was not injured, ran a stop sign and crossed into oncoming traffic, police said. The girl who was ejected was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, police said.

The driver of the southbound car, which came to rest in a ditch on the southwest side of the roadway, was also taken to Methodist for treatment, police said.

The names of those involved were not released pending notification of family members.
