GREENFIELD – Start Thanksgiving Day with a 5K and one-mile fun run along the Pennsy Trail hosted by the Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department and sponsored by Hancock Regional Hospital. The event starts at 9 a.m. Nov. 24 at the Hancock County Memorial Building, 98 E. North St. Register online at greenfieldin.org. The cost is $25 for the 5K or $20 for the Fun Run through October, and $30 for the 5K and $25 for the Fun Run in November. Day-of-race registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and costs $35 for the 5K and $30 for the Fun Run the day of the event. Participants are invited to dress in costume — a turkey, a pilgrim, etc. — for a chance to win a prize. Proceeds from the race go toward the purchase of more outdoor workout equipment for the Pennsy Trail.
