David T. Ledford, 69, Charlottesville, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospice. He was born on September 18, 1946, in Livingston, Tenn., as the son of J.T. and Annie Beatrice (Bowmer) Ledford.
He served in the National Guard for 6 years. David married Margaret M. (Johannigman) Ledford on September 7, 1970, in Millhousen, Ind. He worked as a custodian at Morristown Elementary School for over 20 years, and most recently as a truck driver for Newcomer Lumber for many years. David loved fixing up old barns.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret M. Ledford of Charlottesville; sons, David W. Ledford of Charlottesville, Robert (Trinidy) Ledford of Greenfield, Michael Ledford of Greenfield and Eric Ledford of Charlottesville; brother Danny (Diane) Ledford of Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Judy (Randall) Burke of Nashville, Tenn. and Sandy Strom of Cottage Grove, Oreg.; five grandchildren, Timothy Cooper, Emilie Gluys and Magin Ledford, Cameron Ledford and Kaylee Ledford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Annie Beatrice Ledford; brothers, Howard and Jim Ledford; and twin sister, Diane Ledford.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m to Noon on Friday, September 16, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation, beginning at Noon. Chaplain Katherine Murray will be officiating.
