GREENFIELD — Two people were seriously injured in a car crash Thursday afternoon along Interstate 70 near the 106 mile marker, according to emergency broadcasts.
A vehicle crashed along westbound near County Road 400E left the roadway and flipped, coming to land in cornfield north of the interstate. The vehicle setting upside down when emergency crews arrived.

Two people were trapped inside and needed to be cut from the car, according to emergency broadcasts.

The extent of the passenger’s injuries was not immediately known. Two medical helicopters were called to the scene to transport two people to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, according to emergency broadcasts.

Westbound I-70 is closed at this time and will remain closed as crews clear the area.
