Vicki Lou (Cunningham) Slunaker, 65, died April 2, 2016, at her Greenfield home. Vicki was born March 17, 1951, in Indianapolis, to Thelma (Bennett) Cunningham, who preceded her in death.

Vicki was a 1969 graduate of Greenfield High School and attended Indiana State University. She spent her career at Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University Hospital, Clarian Health, and most recently Indiana University Health, where she was employed by the Department of Surgery to administer pre-award and clinical trial research.

Vicki was a Mama Bear. There was nothing more important to her than family, especially her sons. She was not only at every scouting event, football game, wrestling match, swim meet, band performance, and judo competition, but she could also be counted on to cheer the loudest, feed the troops, wash the uniforms, fundraise, and document it all with a scrapbook.

Vicki cherished being a “Gamma”; her granddaughters were her primary source of joy and inspiration. Vicki got a thrill from meeting deadlines—at both work and home. She wrote poetry to commemorate special occasions. Vicki was an avid reader and movie watcher. She collected recipes and liked to cook. Vicki was thoughtful, could find humor in most situations, and enjoyed spending time with friends. We miss her already, but are comforted by the fact that she is again with her best friend, Duane.

Vicki is survived by sons, Scott Slunaker and Marc Slunaker, both of Greenfield; granddaughters, Schyler Slunaker and Paisley Slunaker; cousins-turned-sisters, Lynn Wybiral and Marcia (Larry) Gallet; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Johnson of Greenfield; brothers-in-law, Robert (Elizabeth) Slunaker, Gary Slunaker both of Greenfield, and Fred (Christy) Slunaker of Congress, AZ; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Vicki was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Duane; “brother-in-law,” Tom Wybiral; and “nephew,” Ryan Gallet.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home Pasco Chapel, 1780 W Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Park Cemetery.
