Eagle Creek Park Foundation seeks nature-themed art

INDIANAPOLIS — The Eagle Creek Park Foundation is looking for nature-themed artwork to display at its 28th annual Celebration of Nature holiday exhibit and sale, Dec. 5 to 13 at the park’s Earth Discovery Center, 5901 Delong Road.

Artists can enter up to three pieces of art in a wide array of media: photography, sculptures, woodcarvings, paintings, pen and ink, fabric or any other 3-D art forms.

Entries can be dropped off to the center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 21 or from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 22. Fifteen percent of artwork sales go to the Eagle Creek Park Foundation. For more information, visit eaglecreekpark.org.

Gingerbread log cabin competition taking entries

NASHVILLE – Entries for the sixth annual Gingerbread Log Cabin Competi-tion and Exhibit are being accepted through Nov. 18. Registration information and rules can be found at createit withgingerbread.com.

Prizes for the winners include $1,000 for Best of Show, $250 for first place and $150 for second place.

Prizes also will be given for a people’s choice award and in children’s categories.

Gingerbread houses will be judged on Nov. 21 and exhibited at the Brown County Inn, corner of state roads 46 and 135, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Nov. 28.
