Vern Fawver, 65, of Greenfield, passed away July 31, 2015. He was born Dec. 11, 1949, in Santa Ana, Calif., and grew up in Greenfield.

He retired from the Greenfield Police Department after 15 years of service. He has been an Internal Investigator for Eli Lilly since 1992. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Bradley United Methodist Church in Greenfield.

Vern enjoyed yard work, grilling for his family and friends, old cars and was an avid Colts fan, who held season tickets. He will always be remembered for being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Becky; children, Toni Fawver and Aaron (Crystal) Fawver; mother, Frances Fawver-Waugh; sisters, Judie Wiggins and Colleen (Greg) Sampson; brothers, Kevin (May) Fawver and Jay (Kris) Fawver and his grandchildren, Estella, Zachary, Kaden, Collin, Brock and Eden.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Fawver.

A celebration of Vern’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday,    August 8, 2015, at Bradley United Methodist Church, 210 W. Main Street, Greenfield.
