Help Hancock County Library set world record

GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Public Library is looking for more than 1,000 volunteers to help set a Guinness world record for the most people balancing books on their heads at the same time. This event will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Greenfield-Central High School Football field across from the library at 900 W. McKenzie Road. Summer farmers market will be at the fairgrounds

GREENFIELD — The summer farmers market will be at the Hancock County 4-H Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at 620 N. Apple St. Fresh produce and homemade foods are available from a variety of vendors.

The Retros Acoustic Trio to appear Tuesday

GREENFIELD — The Retros Acoustic Trio will play pop songs from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s with a mix of guitar, accordion, banjo and ukulele in tight three-part harmony at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sugar Creek Branch of the Hancock County Public Library, 5087 U.S. 52 West. This concert, sponsored by the friends of the Hancock County Public Library, is free and open to the public.

Horse show planned at State Fairgrounds

INDIANAPOLIS — The annual Indianapolis Charity Horse Show runs now through Saturday evening at the Blue Ribbon Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. This free annual event features American Saddlebred horses, Morgan horses and Hackney ponies competing in riding and driving events. Vendors are on site selling jewelry, clothing and equestrian gifts. The Indianapolis Charity Horse Show benefits Morning Dove, a nonprofit organization that assists disabled children and adults through therapeutic horseback riding.
