Indiana Comic Con will make its second annual appearance at the Indiana Convention Center from March 13 to 15.

Building on the foundations of last year’s event, organizers hope to work out many of the bugs from Indiana Comic Con 2014, including a clunky registration system, a tightly-spaced vendor area, and finally, and not surprisingly, given the popularity of such cons in recent years, not enough space to house the 20,000-plus people who crowded the floor space.

By contrast, this year’s Comic Con boasts 400,000-square-feet of vendor space alone and a lengthy list of events and celebrities who will be in attendance.

Compared to last year’s handful of pop culture icons, this year’s list of guests of honor includes Carrie Fisher of “Star Wars” fame, who will be reprising her role as the pop culture icon, Princess Leia, in the upcoming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Also appearing are Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald from “Doctor Who”), Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo from “Game of Thrones”), Disney voice actresses Paige O’Hara and Linda Larkin, YouTube personality ComicBookGirl19 and numerous artists and writers known throughout the comic book world (a complete listing can be found at indianacomiccon.com/indianapolis.html).

The 2015 convention has expanded, as there are more than 150 events listed. A sampling of these includes:

Gaming in the Game Cave, offering 36,000 square feet of board games

Films such as “Toradora!,” “Tron” and repeated showings of the Star Wars series.

Workshops in armor-crafting, character make-up, cosplay photography and help with the creation of your own comic book ideas.

Panel debates about topics such as gender in comic books, tattoos in fandom and a “The Walking Dead” point-counterpoint.

Live performances from “Penguin Knife Fight,” an Orlando Improv Group, and the rock band, Cheshire Moon. Also sit in as a guest at William and Kaley’s Nerdy Wedding.

Not to be left out are the younger fans. For them, there is League of Little Legends in the Kids Zone and Story Time with Deadpool.

You won’t want to miss the Slave Leia group photo session, the Geektastic Cage Match that will determine the winner between Star Wars and Star Trek, Marvel and DC and many more, the older-than-18 event called Nerdy Speed Dating and, of course, the costume contest.

Greenfield’s Hometown Comics, co-owned by Don and Frances Hull, is one of the sponsors of Indiana Comic Con.

They were part of Fan Day two weeks ago when Marvel comic book artist Josef Rubinstein made an appearance at their store to sign art and autographs.

They will have a double-size booth in the vendor area, and they are looking forward to it.

“The geek community is one of the most accepting cultures. They’ve been on the outside, and they don’t want others to experience that,” Frances Hull said.

Indy’s Comic Con is one of at least four popular culture cons to visit Indianapolis this year.

“Being a geek is just really cool right now,” Frances Hull said. “It’s been heading that way since Harry Potter started.”

So head to the Indianapolis Comic Con to get your geek on. Hours are Friday, March 13, from noon to midnight; Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to midnight; and Sunday, March 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Convention admission is $60 for a three-day pass, $35 for a one-day pass, and free for kids 12 and under.
