Gloria Jane Roan, 71, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at her residence. She was born April 14, 1943, to Alfred Feuerstine and Ruth (Stevens) Feuerstine in Shelbyville. She married Bob H. Roan on June 3, 1978, and he preceded her in death Aug. 31, 2011.
Mrs. Roan was a lifetime resident of the area. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1961.
She worked in the factory at IPC of Shelbyville for 10 years, drove a bus for Blue River Special Education Cooperative for several years, and managed the boutique at Benesse Oncology Center for 13 years, retiring in 2014.
Mrs. Roan was an active member of Little Blue River Baptist Church, where she was a deaconess and active in the Ladies' Aid Society.
Jane organized the Shelby County Breast Cancer Support Group. She was a member of the Indiana Wagon Train and Outriders Association.
Jane enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. She was very involved with helping people with cancer. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters Deanna Holder and husband Chris, of Shelbyville; and Cindy Webster and husband Doug, of Shelbyville; two brothers Jerry Feuerstine and wife Kim, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Edward Feuerstine of Morristown; sister Leona Glessner and husband Jerry of Shelbyville; five grandchildren Dustin Webster, Brittany Carlton and husband Josh, Brooke Stout and husband Kreigh, Shelby Hudson and Sara Augustine and three great-grandchildren Mollie, McKinley and Rylen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one infant grandson.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Langdon officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Little Blue River Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
