Dorys L. (Kleinschmidt) Faris, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at Hancock Regional Hospice. She was born on Jan. 4, 1932, in Germany as the daughter of Karl Wilhelm Otto and Martha (Silberbach) Kleinschmidt.
She married Evan R. Lininger who passed away May 5, 1980. She then later married Eugene Faris who passed away June 9, 2011.
She worked for Western Electric for 25 years before retiring and she also worked for Tuttle Orchards for 12 years. She loved gardening, cooking, and reading.
Dorys is survived by her daughter, Jane (Frederick Jr.) Lininger Miessen of New Palestine; step-daughters, Karen (Mark) Mutz of Plainfield and Jan (Randy) Reid of Indianapolis; step-son, Larry (Judy) Faris of Indianapolis; sister, Edith Schäfer of Germany; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Kristine, Matt, Kasia, Megan, Shelby, Amy, and Andy; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl Wilhelm Otto and Martha (Silberbach) Kleinschmidt; husbands, Evan R. Lininger and Eugene Faris; siblings, Otto Kleinschmidt, Helmut Kleinschmidt, Martha Wirt, Gerhardt Kleinschmidt, and Ursula Kleinschmidt.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation. Father Paul Koetter will be officiating. There will be a procession from the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. to Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
