James H Peper, 72, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 19, 2014, after battling a long illness. Born on March 11, 1942, in Corydon, Ind., to Alva H and Violet Peper. A former resident of Greenfield, he moved to Mansfield, Texas, in 2004. He served in the Navy stationed at Newport RI, 1960 to 1964 aboard the USS Hartley Destroyer.

James had a 44 year career at Ford motor company Indianapolis. He was a member of UAW union #1111 and a District committeeman, A Mason at the Hancock Masonic Lodge #101, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish rite, and a Noble at Murat Shrine Temple. James was also a member of American Legion post #184 and Moose lodge, Pine Island Fla.  James enjoyed boating and fishing at Pine Island Sound and in the Gulf of Mexico, at their home on Pine Island Fla.

James was a loving husband, father and grandfather that loved his family dearly. He will be sadly missed by his family and all of his many dear friends.

Survived by his wife, of 54 yrs, his sweetheart and the love of his life, Meredith Dean (Phillips) Peper; brother, Dennis Peper; daughter, Nila (Barry) Cox of Mansfield, Texas; sons, James Christopher (Rita) Peper, and Jeffery Dean (Julia) Peper, of Greenfield; grandchildren, Benjamin and Blair Cox, Mitchell and Brooklyn Peper; stepgrandchildren, Anthony and Joseph White.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Alva H and Violet Peper and sister, Deloris Prince and son- in-law Barry Cox, all of Greenfield.

Masonic services will be held Friday, July 25, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at the Masonic chapel, Arlington Texas.
