Rose M. (Lebensorger) Eakin, 93, of Greenfield and Brooksville, Fla., passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. She was born on Oct. 20, 1920, in Chicago, as the daughter of Nicholas and Regina (Hasibar) Lebensorger. She married Charles J. Eakin on November 8, 1941 at St. Rose of Lima in Chicago. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1997.
Mrs. Eakin was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, line dancing, trips to the casino, reading, playing cards and bingo.
Rose will be sadly missed by her daughters, Patricia (Duke) Watson of Fountaintown and Carol Zaner of Fla.; sisters, Agnes Singraber of Brooksville, Fla. and Anne Bougis of Palos Hill, Ill.; grandchildren, Mark (Jill) Zaner, Christine (Casey) Shull, Michael (Natalie) Zaner, Denise Zaner and Amy (John) Hasenkamp; great-grandchildren, Mark Zaner Jr., Matthew Zaner, Britney Shull Anderson, Alec Shull, Kaitlyn Zaner, Morgan Zaner, Taylor Shull, Grace Hasenkamp, Olivia Hasenkamp and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Nicholas and Regina Lebensorger; siblings, John Lebensorger, Nicholas Lebensorger, Ben Lebensorger, and Teresa Lebensorger.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Msgr. William Stumpf will be officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville, Indiana.
