LTC (Ret.) James W. “Jim” Moss, 83, of Elizabethtown, KY., died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. He was born July 4, 1930, in Martin County, Ind., to Walter L. Mossand Inez  A. McAtee.

LTC (Ret.) Moss was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served 28 years in the Army. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Disabled American Veterans. He was a Company Commander of Tank Co in Greenfield in the late 1950's.

Survivors include his loving wife, Beverly J. Moss; five children, Pam Kurapkat, Debbie (Russ) Diezman, Ray (Joy)  Moss, Patty (Steve) Ledford, Steve (Jeanne) Moss; four siblings, Norma Wagner, Darlene Napier, Bob (Fran) Moss, Carol (Dale) Erickson; eight grandchildren; and one great- grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Moss.

Visitation was from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, and after 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home. LTC (Ret) Moss’s funeral service was held at 11a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at the chapel of Coffey & Chism Funeral Home, Vine Grove, Ky. Burial followed in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, Ky., with military honors.
