Stewart N. Griffin, 71, of Fortville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Rawlins House in Pendleton. He was born in Fortville on Aug. 10, 1942, to Norman and Evelyn (Alby) Griffin.

He was a 1960 graduate of Hancock Central High School and a 1964 graduate of Ball State University. Stewart was a controller for Chrysler Corporation, retiring in 1987 after 18 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and old cars.

Stewart is survived by his wife, Charlotte M. (Peters) Griffin, whom he married Oct. 10, 1992, in Fortville; sons, Rex (Mary) Griffin of Greenfield, Ryan (Angie) Griffin of Fortville and Richard (Carrie) Griffin of Greenfield; daughter, Robin (Steve) Hammond of Locust Grove, Ga.; stepson, Michael (Annette) Bonisa of Fortville; grandchildren, C.L. Bonisa, Megan Jones, Joseph Griffin, Emily Griffin, Samuel Griffin, and Grace Griffin; several great-grandchildren; brother, Hugh Griffin of Greenfield and brother-in-law, Mike (Trish) Peters of Fairbury, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Karen Griffin.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. A celebration of Stewart’s life will take place at Noon, on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
