Donald O. Kleine, 86, passed away Jan. 27, 2014, after a lingering illness. He was born Jan. 2, 1928, to the late John E. and Emma Bakemeier Kleine.
Don was a graduate of Warren Central High School. He proudly served his Country in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Indiana Bell Telephone for many years. He also dearly loved his devoted canine family Satch, Rags, Schatzy, Carla, Gigi, and Snowball.

Surviving are his stepsons, Sherm (Ruth) Smith and Dave (Dawn) Smith; stepgrandchildren, Jamie, Rich, Ronnie, Don, David, and Doug; many great-stepgrandchildren; nieces and nephews, Terri (Thomas) Jordan, Kurt (Amy) Kleine, Scott (Karen) Kleine, Ric (Peg) Kleine, and Becky Stamps; sister-in-law, Doris; and many other relatives and special friends.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his first wife S. Lucile; his second wife, Rosemary and his brothers, Earl and Carl “Doc”.
The family is being served by Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington Street. In honoring Don’s wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Indianapolis or Purdue University Veterinary Hospital.
