Bernice L. DeWitt Snider, 88, of New Palestine, passed away on Dec. 30, 2013. She was born in Indianapolis on Sept. 9, 1925, to Floyd Earl Lee and Pearl Gertrude Gant Lee.
Bernice graduated from Manual High School in 1943, followed by 2 years of technical training before working as a Surgical Technologist with Community Hospital East.
Bernice is survived by husband, Dr. Lewis Snider and children. Karen N. May (Ronald), H. Jeanne Sheridan (Hans), Katherine D. Summers, Paula S, DeWitte and Patricia K. DeWitt; 12 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Dr. Snider's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents; three sisters, Zelda Hager. Letha P. Lee and Margarite L. Parr, her first husband, Hessel Simon Dewitt, passed away in Sept. of 1979 and her grandson, Derik S. Summers.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, in Hendryx Mortuary ll636 East Washington St., with a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014. Burial will follow in Orchard Hill Cemetery, Wanamaker, Ind.
