Robert L. “Bud” Burnham, 85, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on Dec. 31, 1927, in Piatt County, Ill., as the son of Roy L. and Mabel A. (Hill) Burnham.
He married Joyce Mae (Salyers) Burnham on July 31, 1949, in Hancock County. They were happily married for 64 years.
He worked for International Harvester as a machine operator for 44 years before retiring in 1988. Mr. Burnham was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Greenfield and also a lifetime member of the NRA. In his spare time, Bud enjoyed being outdoors especially when he could travel to Colorado and Wyoming to hunt.
Surviving him are his loving wife, Joyce; brother, Donald (Barbara) Burnham of Greenfield; sisters, Vivian McConnell of Oaklandon, Lillian Peacock of Greenfield, Alice Shetrone of Greenfield and Valetta Hommel of Greenfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Reverend O’Connor will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East in Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hancock Regional Hospital Foundation, Hospice Unit, 801 N. State St. Greenfield, IN 46140.
