Larry G. Nichols

Larry G. Nichols, 64, of Greenfield, passed away Aug. 8, 2013, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on May 27, 1949, in Indianapolis as the son of Joseph and Millie (Daugherty) Nichols. He attended Arlington High School and later attended Trade School for two years. He served in the Army, during the Vietnam era, from 1967 until 1973. He married Pastor Marianne (Lewellen) Nichols on February 24, 1973 in Lebanon, Indiana.

Larry was the owner of Nichols Floor Coverings for ten years. He was also a Supervisor and Installer for Blakley Corporation of Indianapolis for thirty years before retiring in 2009. Mr. Nichols was a member of Mohawk United Methodist Church and Men’s Group Golf Club at Arrowhead. He made a hole in one several times at various golf courses. In his free time, Larry enjoyed golfing and remote-control cars and helicopters.

Surviving him are his loving wife, Pastor Marianne Nichols of Greenfield; daughters, Natalie (Jeff) Parry of Greenwood, Denise (Ryan) Craig of Greenfield; sister, Bessie Emmons of Indianapolis; brother, James (Judy) Nichols of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Brittany, Sydney, Jared and Landon; and one great-grandson, Rylan.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Lori Nichols; twin brother, Joseph Nichols; and sister, Shirley Harper.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013. Both the visitation and the funeral service will be held at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. Rev. Woody Thompson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
