Howard S. Redden, 89, a long time Rush Co. resident, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, in Rushville. Howard was born on April 12, 1924, in Lewis Co., Ky., to the late Floyd E. and Lester Helen (McCane) Redden.

Howard lived most of his life in Rush County, and was a 1943 graduate of Rushville High School. He married Seraph A. Marshall on April 14, 1945 and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2010. He was a retired Rush County farmer and was an active member of Center Christian Church.

Howard leaves behind three sons, Steven (Marjorie) Redden of New Palestine, David (Tami) Redden of Noblesville, and Joseph Redden and friend Mary Richey  of Rush Co.; two daughters, Mary Ann (Randy) Kirk of Corydon, Ind. and Lisa (Steve) Moore of Johnson City, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great- grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Howard was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Self and Norma Miller.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Millers Merry Manor.

Services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Center Christian Church. Rev. Keet Redden and Bill Worrell will preside. Friends are welcome to visit from 11a.m. until the time of service that same day at the church. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery.
