Mary L. Caudell
Mary L. Caudell, 88, Fortville, passed away May 1, 2013, at Kindred Regency Place in Greenfield. She was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Mt. Comfort to the late Earl Franklin and Daisy Carmen (Wilson) Snider, and was a 1942 graduate of McCordsville High School.
Mary was a member of REBEKA Odd Fellows Lodge in Fortville, Hancock County Home Extension, and volunteered at both Shares, Inc. and ARC. She was also the past precinct committee woman for the Democratic Party.
She is survived by daughters Sharon L. (Carroll) Bush of Trafalgar, Marcia R. Caudell of Indianapolis, Deanna J. (Terry) Laxton of Mocksville, N.C., and Carmen “Candy” Caudell of Greenfield; sons Franklin D. (Brenda) Caudell of Fortville, and Jay D. Caudell of Fortville; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Katherine Gray of Greenfield, Alwilda Harding of Shelbyville, Vivian (Bill) Walker of Greenfield, June (Fred) Browning of Mt. Summit, Jean Robinson of Tenn., and Barbara Ann (Elmer) Logan of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her husband Billy, whom she married March 21, 1942, in Fortville; and sisters Beulah Hess, Gladys Snider, Carolyn Monroe, Mildred Snider and Judith K. Balldock.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville, with a Celebration of Mary’s Life immediately following at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
