Jamie C. Schalk-Browning, 67, of Gibson City, Ill., formally of Indianapolis and Decatur, passed away on Tuesday March 12, 2013, at the Gibson Area Hospital in Gibson City. Jamie was born on Dec. 21, 1945, in Chicago, a daughter of Ralph B. and Patricia Calhoun Skinner. She married Edward A. Browning on April 12, 1991, in Indianapolis; he survives.

Jamie retired as an X-Ray Tech and Electronics Technician at Naval Avionics (Raytheon). She loved Jesus and enjoyed her grandkids and pets.

Surviving her are five children, Lisa Schalk of Carmi, Ill., Jeff (Angie) Schalk of Fountaintown, Ind., James (Tina) Schalk of New Palestine, Stephen (Nikki) Browning of Indianapolis, Scott (Angel) Browning of Madison, Wis.; mother, Patricia Flesher of Naperville, Ill.; two sisters, Ann (Allan) Griffith of Bloomington ,Ill., and Cathy (Dan) Bargerstock of Naperville Ill. ; a brother, William (Karen) Flesher of Monticello, Ill. ; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Skinner; and stepfather, Burns Flesher.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m., on Saturday March 16, 2013, at the Lamb Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Parmley officiating. Visitation will be from 12 – 2 p.m., on Saturday prior to the service.

The family deeply appreciates the care and support given by the staff of Gibson Area Hospital during Jamie’s finale days.
