Christine D. Scott

Christine D. Scott, 87 years, a resident of Greenfield passed from this life to victory Friday, March 8, 2013, at Kindred Healthcare, Greenfield. She was born November 2, 1925, in New River, Tenn. to the late Ira & Nancy A. (Combs) Duff.

Christine was born and raised in Garrett, Ky. She moved with her family to Greenfield, Ind. in 1953. She was a hard working woman who always put her family before herself. She was a very successful business woman and worked as an area manager for “Successful Living” for thirty years. At the age of 80, she earned an associate degree in free-lance writing. She became a published author at the age of 84. She was a member of the Greenfield Church of God, and retired from Western Electric.

She is survived by her daughters, Margie (Dan) Ellis of Greenfield, Betty Scotfield of Morristown, Barbara Scott of Greenfield; son, Ira (Patsy) Scott of Greenfield; grandchildren, Darla Helsley Tilley of Ariz., Sherri (Bob) Rankins, Christina Fannin both of Greenfield, Donnie (Elaine) Fields, Jr. Fields both of Indianapolis, Michael (Lucky) Farrior of Greenfield, Valerie Ellis of Indianapolis, Pam Ellis of Fla., John Scott, Richard Scott both of Calif.; twelve great-grandchildren; twelve great great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlene (Bill) Mize of Charlottesville, Magdalene (Doug) Hughes of Climax, Mich., Martha Roberts of Garrett, Ky.; brothers, Dewey (Pat) Duff of Michigan City, Ind., Enoch (Wanda) Duff of Greenfield; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Scott; parents listed above; sisters, Shirley Lewis, Pearlie Collins, Gertrude Day,  Geraldine Duff, Susie Duff, Myrtle Roberts; brothers, James Duff, Alex Duff, Edmund Duff, John Duff; son, Steve Edmond Scott; grandchildren, Lisa Scott and Brandon Fannin.

Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Celebration of Life service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Greenfield Church of God. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
