Benson J. “Benny” Briles, 60, a resident of Greenfield passed away on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice, Greenfield. He was born Dec. 13, 1951, in Greenfield to Dale Briles and Joann (Kidd) Blake.

He was a graduate of Greenfield High School, a photographer, and a salesman for The Papers Inc. of Millford, IN. He enjoyed playing darts, bowling, basketball, and was an avid sports fan. Benny loved spending time with his family and was known for his joke telling.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry (Swinney) Briles of Greenfield, whom he married on Aug. 20, 2011; mother, Joann Blake of St. Joseph, Mich.; sons, J.J. Briles of Scottsdale, Ariz., Shanon Briles of Snowflake, Ariz., Brandon Wells and B.J. Briles II, both of Greenfield; step-daughters, Caitlin Fox, Samantha Fox, both of Greenfield; his best friend, Bob McKee of Greenfield; grandson, Holton Wasson; granddaughter, Layla Wells; step granddaughter, Evelyn Hodge; brothers, Rollie Blake, John “Chuck” Blake, Rick Blake, Mike Piersall; sisters, Cynthia Kerber, Linda Shively, Karen Piersall, Ann Piersall; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Briles.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service on Friday Aug. 17, 2012, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Funeral service will be at 6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Friends and family are asked to come casually dressed and are invited to a party at Benny and Sherry's home following the funeral.
