Steve Ash, 69 of Houston, formerly of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012. He was the son of Glen and Ruth Ash.
After graduating from Greenfield High School in the class of 1961, Steve was employed at General Motors Allison Division in Indianapolis as a supervisor. He furthered his education at Indiana Central College. Steve enjoyed golf with Jo Ann and their many friends, and woodworking. He was a member of Greenfield Christian Church. In 1993, after retirement Steve and Jo Ann moved to Houston to be near their children. Steve's grandchildren were the light of his life and he always allotted time to attend his grandsons' sporting and scouting activities.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Maroska who he married in 1963; daughters, Carrie (Chad) Mulholland and Sharla (Tom) Ostrowski; grandsons, Mitch and Jake Ostrowski, and Ben Mulholland; sister, Susan (Stan) Ward of Greencastle; and brother, Dale (Lynda) Ash of Anderson.
He was preceeded in death by his brother, Doug Ash.
Visitation and a funeral service were held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Crowder Funeral Home in Houston. Cremation followed. A memorial service for Steve will be held in early August at Greenfield Christian Church.
