Harry “Skip” Joseph Brand, age 61, of New Palestine, passed away on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011. Born on June 29, 1950, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Joseph F. and Kathleen C. (Willey) Brand.

Harry graduated from Cardinal Ritter High School in 1969 and earned an associate’s degree from Marian University School of Nursing. He married Juanita Marie Ebert on Nov. 6, 1987. Mr. Brand worked as a nurse at Wishard Hospital in the intensive care unit and in Interventional Radiologys for ten years. Skip was an avid fisherman and loved camping and the outdoors. He also enjoyed woodworking.

 Surviving him are his wife, Juanita Brand of New Palestine; step-son, Shawn R. (Carolyn) King of New Palestine; brother, Ronnie D. Brand of Indianapolis; sisters, Judy K. (Wayne) Dye of Charlottesville, and Vickie L. (Norman) Phelps of Tucson, Ariz.; and grandchildren, Lillian and William.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Visitation will be on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield with a rosary taking place at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Greenfield. Monsignor William Stumpf will be conducting the service. Burial will take place at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
