Betty (Thomas) Dobbins, age 92, of McCordsville, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at The Woodlands in Muncie, Ind. She was born on Aug. 2, 1919, in McCordsville and was a 1937 graduate of Fortville High School.
Betty worked as a buyer at William H. Block’s Department Store for 40 years before retiring in 1988. She was also a member of Daleville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Jan (Judy) Dobbins of Chesterfield, Ind.; daughter, Kristi (Carl) Smith of Greenfield; grandchildren, Misty (Scott) Rambis of Anderson, Kreigh (Patty) Dobbins of Anderson, J. (Sally) Dobbins of Onalaska, Wis., Jennifer (Jamie) Reed of Marseilles, Ill.; Jill (Bruce) Schuyler of Greenfield; David (Laura) Stone of Petersburg, Va., Kim (Terry) Camden of Kokomo, Ind.; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Dean Dobbins; and sister Wilma Dobbins.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fortville. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
